We would like to bring the following to your attention and kindly request you to pass on the information to the members of your society:
· On April 25, the meeting “Impact of Microbiology”, organized by the European Microbiology Forum (EMF), took place in Brussels. Dr Anne Glover, the Scientific Advisor to the President of the European Commission, gave a talk followed by several speakers representing the fields of food, vaccines and viruses. More will follow in this month’s FEMS Affiliates Letter.
· The registration deadline for the Coinfections 2012 meeting in Halle on June 7 and 8, organized by the European Academy of Microbiology (EAM) has been extended to June 1. · June 1 will be the deadline for the application for the National and Regional Congresses Grants. For more information on how to apply, click here.

· FEMS Member Society IBBS is organizing the meeting Antimicrobial Strategies for Biofilm Control. For more information, click here.
· In view of Ascension Day, FEMS Central Office will be closed on May 17 and 18, 2012.
